Aztec technology
- The Aztecs made many technological advances that are still respected today by the leading scientists of the world. In this section, you will learn about the different inventions/technology and their respective uses.
Tools

Since the Aztecs did not know about metals such as bronze and iron, they used rocks such as the Igneous rock obsidian, and the rock chert. Eventually, when the Spanish began to conquer the Aztecs, they experimented with bronze tools such as axes. They even made drills made out of bones.
Weapons

Ancient Aztec warriors had to have weapons of some sort, and they are made out of rocks, and eventually bronze. There is a kind of spear thrower called an atlatl which made throwing easier for hunters and warriors. Another weapon is the macuahuitl, a club with jagged pieces of obsidian.

When the Aztecs came onto the island that was "destined" to be their home, they settled there. Over time, the Aztecs decided to make things "bigger" by making artificial land that connected to the island. These scraps of land are called Chinampas. Using this flexible, floating piece of land, the Aztecs made farms and canals that they can paddle through using canoes. This invention was made from mud and other earthy substances.

This ancient people created many works of art, mainly sculptures. What paintings they did mostly had some religious aspect to it, often depicting the gods. The Emperor of the entire city was said to never wear the same clothes twice. There is a giant assortment of clothes, decorated with a unique style with feathers and jewels.
